RENTAL PROPERTY IN SPAIN

THE HOUSE IS NOW FOR SALE

We offer to rent a modern link bungalow on Urbanizacion La Marina, situated 6K inland between Alicante and Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca. The house sleeps four. Ths is our "home away from home" so we have equipped it as such with satellite TV, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer. Urb La Marina is surrounded by the "real Spain" of agricultural land and rolling hills leading inland to the mountains of the Alicante wine country, yet the coastal strip is there for those who want the bustle of Torrevieja or the seclusion of La Marina beach. Delightful "Spanish" towns like Elche, Crevellente, Orihuela, Santa Pola and Guardamar surround us and Murcia and Alicante are not too far away. Prices range from £150 in the winter to £225 in the summer per week for rental of the property. We find the bungalow is being rented increasingly by people who find it an ideal base when looking for a house of their own.

When David became 60 he decided to support the local football club in a more positive manner by going to games etc.  Both David and Kathy attend Brunton Park as time allows.  CUFC is a local asset, and like all local institutions of any nature, the area would be worse off without it.  CUFC is Cumbria's only full-time professional sporting outfit.  "Up the Blues"......"Up The Cumbrians"

HOWE'S HOMILES

This is where you, dear reader, have to suffer my thoughts on life:

CARLISLE CITY MOTTO - "Be Just and Fear Not" - is my personal motto too.

PASTOR NIEMOELLER - was a German U-boat commander in WW1, and after the war turned to the church and pacifism.  During WW2 she spent from 1937-45 in various German concentration camps.  He is probably best remembered for his poem:

First they came for the Jews

and I did not speak out -

because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the communists

and I did not speak out -

because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists

and I did not speak out -

because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -

and there was no one left

to speak out for me.

And now on a lighter note from an American post card:

HUGGING

Feels good -

Dispels loneliness -

Overcomes fears -

Builds self-esteem (Wow! they actually want to hug me) -

Slows down ageing, huggers stay younger longer -

Eases tension -

Fights insomnia -

Keeps arm and shoulder muscles in good condition -

Is ecologically sound, does not upset the environment -

Is democratic, anyone is eligible for a hug -

Is portable -

Affirms physical well-being -

Is energy efficient, saves heat -

Makes impossible days, possible -

Makes happy days happier -

A hug makes you feel good all day.
