DAVID HOWE MOUNTAIN LEADER/TOURIST GUIDE  

David has been leading and guiding in the North Cumbria area for 16 years, including the Hadrian's Wall Country Bus, and is now offering his expertise privately on a 1:1 or small group basis including on-coach guiding. His speciality is Hadrian's Wall. He is a committed Christian.

and others in the area by arrangement including the northern parts of the Cumbria Way, Pennine Way and St Bega's Way.

 

All excursions include geographical and historical guiding and will be accompanied by an information pack. He is quite comfortable with guests who do not have English as a first language.

Some personal notes:

David is a teacher by profession and has been guiding for the past 16 years. He first gained his MLC in 1968 and has walked and led extensively in the UK (especially the Pennines and Lake District) plus parts of the USA , NZ and Israel. He has walked the Pennine Way twice, the Cleveland Way and St Bega's Way.

 

David has a countryside/outdoor background after early years in Scouting, being a Scout Leader and through the YHA following on to involvement in the Mountain Bothies Association and Lake District National Park Voluntary Wardens. Of late, David has specialised more on Hadrian's Wall activities and is a Hadrian's Wall Country Volunteer. For 11 years he has guided on the Hadrian's Wall Country bus from Carlisle to Hexham and return.
