Walk from Alston to Kirkhaugh and return, visiting Kirkhaugh Church and Whitley Castle Roman Fort with an optional ride on the South Tynedale Railway afterwards. The walk will be on footpaths, bridleways and minor roads and includes part of the Pennine Way.
7 miles, moderate. Wear boots/walking shoes, outdoor clothing and a waterproof. Bring packed lunch and a drink.
Cost £5 which includes an information pack and a donation to the STR’s Barber Locomotive Appeal.
